The Square
“The Square” (artwork by me)
The people gathered in a square. The square was so perfect that nobody could question its precision. The most precise craftsmen were called in to construct it and the four corners were chosen perfectly to maximize the magnitude of the experience. Experiences are not new to anyone, but experiences that change the lens through which we view experiencing itself are rare to come by for most. Experiences that meddle with perception’s awareness of its own nature, after all, are difficult to induce forcefully. The square’s architect though, was determined to change that. He had seen in a dream that the forces of life were to align perfectly in such a way as to maximize perception awareness at a very specific spot deep in the Amazon forest of Bolivia. He received instructions from jester-like elves that a square must be constructed with this sacred point at its center in order to concentrate the spirit field and reap its benefits. The square was to be constructed with bricks red as the evening sun and mortar white as a dove.
